2012 Oktoberfest Extravaganza!!
The Beer Lovers' Tour company returns to Europe with our new 2012 Oktoberfest Extravaganza.
Beginning in Munich Germany, home of the world famous Oktoberfest, this one week adventure will guide our small group through Germany on the road less travelled.
Historic cities that include Bamberg, Heidelberg, Trier and Cologne will provide the jumping points from which to explore the culture, history and beers of the various regions of south and central Germany.
Designed and led by our multilingual beer ambassador Oliver Dawson, the 2012 Oktoberfest Extravaganza will offer guests a fascinating 'insiders' experience of Germany. Whether ancient castles, romantic river cruises, magnificent cathedrals or the culture of German brewing your interest, our Oktoberfest Extravaganza will be a great introduction for the first time traveller to Europe and a delicious adventure for the more seasoned adventurer. Sept 29 - arrive Munich. City orientation tour including the Olympic Park followed by hotel check in. With the afternoon left free to explore, we meet in the evening for our welcome dinner at a famous Munich Tavern.
Sept 30 - We begin the day with a tour of the magnificent Nymphenburg Castle followed by a leisurely visit to Octoberfest that includes lunch and beer, of course. From there guests are free to explore the city according to their interests and energy.
Oct 1 - We begin this event filled day with a BMW Welt Museum visit. After a scenic drive we arrive at Kelheim where we take a short boat ride down the Danube to one of the oldest breweries in the world, the Weltenburg Kloster Brauerei. There we can enjoy their famous Dunkelbier over a leisurely lunch. Then it on to the Bamberg. The evening is free to explore this charming historic city.
Oct 2 - Bamberg bike and beer tour. Schlenkerla tavern where we can enjoy dinner and their famous 'Rauchbier'.
Oct 3 - Off to medieval Dinkelsbuhl for a city tour and brewery lunch. On to Heidelberg where a local guide will show us around the old city as well as the famous castle. Evening free.
Oct 4 - Short drive to Rudesheim for a romantic Rhine River cruise to St Goarshausen. Then we enjoy a scenic drive following the picturesque Mosel River to the old Roman city of Trier. We will enjoy an evening tour of this fabled city.
Oct 5 - As we explore the ancient volcanic Eifel Massif, we stop in Bitburg for a brewery vist and then on to Monshau for a brewery museum tour and a late lunch. We arrive in Cologne and enjoy a free evening to explore.
Oct 6 - A special guided Cologne city tour with a Chocolate Museum visit . Our farewell dinner is at the legendary Paeffgen Brew Pub.
Oct 7 - Depart.

You may book your flights at your own convenience, to land in Munich and depart Dusseldorf.
